What to Do if You are involved in a Vehicle Collision

Updated: Dec 11, 2023

Many people get nervous and forget what to do, or maybe it's their first accident, and need guidance. Here is a step-by-step on what to do if you get involved in a car accident:

First things First! Call 911 if you are badly hurt or injured.

Obtain help by asking someone nearby for medical help and to help you with the following:

1. Take photos of the damage to all cars involved and their license plates.

2. Take photos of the other person's driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance information. If they do not have insurance call the police (if they aren't already there). While you are waiting for the police to arrive at the scene of the accident, get as much documentation as possible. Note as many details as you can (including the road conditions and your speed), and obtain the other person's information. You MUST file a police report with as much information as possible.

Locate witnesses and get their full names and phone numbers. Check the area to see if there are cameras. (This may be useful later on)

Once you have obtained all photos and a police report, please call us and we will guide you throughout the personal injury process (818) 788-7881. Sometimes, you won't feel any pain due to the adrenaline, so it is very important you seek legal guidance before speaking to any insurance company.

Please call us for further assistance on your personal injury claim (818) 788-7881.
